Departure-security rule
China domestic flights: power bank CCC marking rule
For China domestic flights, power banks without a clear CCC mark, or recalled models and batches, cannot be carried by passengers.
Scope
Applies to passenger-carried power banks on domestic flights within China. It is not a blanket rule for every international flight to or from China; airline, airport and transit rules can add requirements.
What the authority says
- The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) says the restriction took effect on 28 June 2025.
- A missing CCC mark, an unclear CCC mark, or a recalled model or batch makes the power bank ineligible for a China domestic flight.
- Security screening may check the label, physical condition and recall status before boarding.
Before-you-fly checklist
- 1Confirm that the CCC mark is present and legible on the power bank before leaving for the airport.
- 2Check the model and batch against any recall notice from the manufacturer or authority.
- 3Keep the power bank in cabin baggage and also confirm the operating airline’s Wh and quantity limits.
