Global flight baggage guide
What counts as a personal item on a flight?
A personal item is usually an under-seat bag, not a universal category. Its dimensions and whether it is included depend on the fare and carrier.
Scope
Airline allowance only; use the carrier’s booking or baggage page for the precise limit.
Before-you-fly checklist
- 1Look for under-seat dimensions.
- 2Check whether Basic or Light fares exclude an extra cabin bag.
- 3Keep essential batteries and medicine in this bag when possible.
